I have 2 accounts as well. The second is for mules, Xunlai storage, friends to play on, and eventually farming.

QFT.

I have 2 accounts and just bought another one for the extra storage. It doesn't make me that much richer and even if I have the gold, I dont feel like buying anything since I farm almost everything that I need, so my gold keeps accumulating.

1. More Storage
2. More XTH (although that seems to be gone for good)
3. More Nicholas's gifts. I had to do a Drok run for my level 4 from Beacon's to Mineral Springs. Took me hell since that was the first time I did it, and my map was foggy. But I finally did it.
4. 6 heroes (only 2 accounts needed)
5. Can run myself.
6. More PvE skills per team.
7. Can 600/smite all by myself and get all the drops.

yeah at least the company is making money I guess it's ok

Then ANet would need to get rid of:

1) XTH
2) Nicholas's gifts
3) NF keyless treasure chests
4) ZQuests because they earn you coins to get equipment packs.

Because otherwise, they would have to do special work scanning for people using 2 accounts and handle proxies in their code and so on. Somehow make allowance for husband and wife playing in the same house or siblings/family playing too.

So, getting rid of these features would then make you happy?

The system as is generates Anet more money through account sales. They will not (and should not, from a business point of view) remove this.

What is there to discuss?

ZQuests I dont have an issue with. Not sure what you are referring to about #3.

Removing #1 in particular right now would not help. The damage has already been done. It should not have been introduced in the first place. As what to do about it now.. no comment.

I dont think any person should be limited to a certain number of accounts, but anet could do a better job of limiting the rewards ppl can obtain if they have many. The original intent behind multiple accnts was just for storage and character slots.

Im hoping that this is just one of the many things anet went off the deep end with in GW1 since they pay it like .99% percent of their attention now, because if this is a reoccuring theme in GW2, no thanks!

The more characters you have, the more times you can do the PvE zquests. Even though the coins themselves are not tradable across accounts, the equipment packs are.

There is no way that ANet can tell between 2 accounts logined from the same home are being played by 1 person or by a husband and wife or GF team or brother and sister/brother team or whatever.

So the question really becomes, should a husband get less reward if his wife or GF already has an account also? If that is the case, then there is no incentive to ask wives to play this game with their husbands.

Default accounts

I own two accounts, both with all the games added to it. I don't do it for the money and honestly it never dawned on me that I could until I read this post, thanks!

I use one account for collecting stuff for my hall and grinding out my titles just in case it matters in GW2. My second account I hardly ever use and only log on to it when I need a break from my main account. I'm a GL of a fairly large guild so that can sometimes be a pain. My second account which isnt part of my main account's guild gives me the time to relax and not have to worry about running people from Ascalon to LA or perma beating Gates of Madness for them.

But this is what I've never understood, A-net is dead set on banning gold buyers and sellers, which is totally in their right but at the same time they allow the constant abuse of the drop system that allows people to gather and hoard insane amounts of gold. I'm sorry but some of the us have lives and WORK for a living, not everyone that plays GW has the time to farm UW 8 hours a day. Plain and simple fact A-net punishes the casual player that doesnt or can't farm the system. More accounts or buying gold from China is just leveling the playing field or at least I think that's the logic behind it. Keeping up with the Jones you know?

I have 4 accounts.
My 'main' account that I got for me. (Dec 2005)
One of my sons tried a character on my account, liked the game bought him a copy. (Mar 2006) (Against EULA to 'share' account.)
Another son, same thing. (Apr 2006)

The son I bought the first 'extra' account for, joined the Marines. He said do what you want with the account. Added character slots, so as to not delete his.

Second 'extra' account, son quit playing. Again, "do what you want with it."

1st account 12 char slots, 2nd has 11, 3rd has 10. All 3 has all chapters and Eye. Do not have the bonus on any of them.

July 2008, bought 4th account (Prophesies & EotN only, 4 slots) on a challenge. To start and play a character as though it was your first character. No help from coin, mats, and unlocked skills, etc. from previous characters. The idea was to compare the game, 7/08 vs 12/05, for making money, PuGs, and to see how much 'easier' the game has 'become'. I feel sorry for the brand new players these days vs late 2005 early 2006.

Today, I have 4 'permapre' characters, 1 per account (Gifts of the Hunter). My first account financially 'supports' the other accounts. It also has my only 'title chaser'. She gets all the mini's from all the other characters for her HoM. None are sold nor bought.

Zkeys, zcoins, zquests, these are just words to me. Where they are used, how/where they are acquired, I have no clue, have yet to stumble onto them while playing. Something about registering on another website to make more ingame money. I am doing fine without all that.

Everyone has their reasons for having multiple accounts. These are mine.

More accounts, means more money for Anet. you would be hard pressed to get them to cut their own throat. lol

I see no problems with the current system. Seriously, people piling up on accounts just for such in game advantages simply need to get a life.

I have 2 accounts now because a friend quit and gave me access to his. I keep it for the sake of getting characters' birthday presents on occasion. I check it every few months and grab minis, that's about it.

Many times, on my "main account" I missed Xunlai House bets and Nicholas the Traveler gifts (did it the first time today!). I don't really feel like repeating anything on the second account.

Its the legal version of gold selling, thats about it. Anet gets its money this way. Blizzard supports the gold sellers. Theres not much you can do to stop it.

Come on guys, how else would Anet do the "ZOMG we sold 6 million copies but don't you dare mention we count all 4 games/expansions individually" ads without luring people to buy more than one account?

The closure of XTH does look like they've sold enough copies for now, though.

The fact that I have multiple accounts actually gives me more free time, because I can just vote/get nicholas gifts which takes 3-4hours a month.
Then during holidays and summer I can enjoy my time on guildwars being able to afford what I want, instead of having to grind for cash.

For all those people who are saying that money doesn't matter in Guild Wars, and that the additional income earned by owning many accounts via the XTH/Birthday presents/Traveler gifts etc isn't in anyway a problem... I hope you realize that you are condoning Real Money Trade, the only difference between this and Gold Sellers... is that small trickle of cash is going to NCsoft.

Maybe GW2 will make you all happy, selling gold in the online store, but knowing ArenaNet their price will be too high for the majority of the forum posters... and they will just have legitimized the RMT trade.

I'm all about my ranger when it comes to pve, I don't need multiple accounts to enjoy GW. We are out of content so its a done deal. I'm not going to repeat the game on my one account let along on multiples. People who farm multiple accounts are going outside the scope of the game imo, however if that is how they get their jollies then more power to them. It doesn't take away from my enjoyment of the game because I don't play to complete with anyone gold wise although I've had my share and then some. If I cared about riches I would play monopoly or railroad tycoon.

Same old same old......

I have a fair few accounts.... ones from friends who stopped playing. I use these for storage and the traveller at times. Do I sell the stuff? No I use the gains from the traveller for titles... my Warrior just got Sweet Tooth from it....

So have I gained money wise? No. I saved money.

Cash wise in the game I have just over 100K... and I farm a lot as well to get what I want.

It's all crap and how people use their other accounts if they want to. Don't come running around telling me I can't use them... hell they been paid for and are available. Or is it just because you don't have them and others should be punished?
